Small Business Incubator Part 1
Today’s entrepreneur is more mobile, flexible and plugged in than ever. With such a demand on businesses to offer responses and information nearly instantly regardless of the hours a new startup needs to find some sort of solution to be plugged into the pulse of their business.
So what are the options currently on the market to fulfill this need? Let’s break down the larger categories that a new venture needs to solve in order to keep it’s current clientele and grow their business.
These essentials include:
1. Web Presence
Regardless if your business is a technology organization or not, you will absolutely need to have a fitting web presence for your customers to find your business, get in touch with you and understand your business. There are several different types of websites that your organization could possibly have:
- Informational
- Transactional
2. Contact Information
Does your customer base have a way to get in touch with you? If so through what channels? You should have a contact method that is not tied directly to you, but allows for a more personal response if that is necessary. Be sure though, that in a personal response you drop the “CEO, President etc.” titles as in a startup they just make you seem foolish and/or full of yourself.
3. Accept Credit Cards
If you have a transactional based web presence, what avenues do you have for your customer base to pay you? This is one case where the more the merrier because it allows customers to pick their favorite method of payment (often just credit cards) and make them feel like you thought of them during your planning process.
In the next part of Small Business Incubator we will talk about ways to efficiently implement each feature set to keep your customers happier, and most important returning to your business.
