So who the heck is Travis Ketchum and why am I reading this blog? Good question!
I am a business enthusiast who is technically oriented; every time I see a new product or idea my mind starts spinning wheels on how to use technology in order to more successfully add to the product, market it or both. I am currently a student at Washington State University in Pullman, WA with a major in Marketing and a minor in International Business. I am paying the bills by working for the University (systems administrator), Affiliate Marketing and small business marketing consultations.
My most current ambition is starting up http://www.mybiggive.com which aims to be a charitable portal. The value proposition is summarized as simply “delivering revenue to your favorite cause, from your favorite brands for free”. This is achieved through the affiliate programs that nearly every desirable destination on the web has; these programs empower the users to have a voice in where a portion of sales go instead of simply relying on their patronage to end up in the hands of a good cause.
Today’s web is about user choice, voice and interaction. My website aims to combine all of these factors while maintaining the price sensitivity that we are all conscience of especially with today’s recession (proven via Wal-Mart).
